A picture of my Tern Quick Haul Long D9 electric cargo bike, the bike I will be using for the cycle challenge. It has a 'Green Party' sticker on the back.

The bike.

This year, like last year, I am doing a cycle challenge for the month of October.

Last year I undertook the challenge in the name of Cancer Research UK, and was successful in raising quite a bit of money for the cause.

This year, I am undertaking the challenge in the name of The National Autistic Society - to assist research, support and the provision of resources for autistic people in the UK.

The suggested challenge is to do 100 miles in a month.. which I did not think was entirely fair as I have an electric bike and I’m a good cyclist.. so I have upped this to 200 miles in the month of October.

I estimate that in order to comfortably meet this challenge, I will have to cycle 60 miles per week.. given that the effective safe range of my e-bike is 20 miles, that is cycling 3 times per week for 20 miles per cycle.

This will be difficult because I have a lot of other responsibilities at the moment.. not to mention looking for work.. building systems to build up my potential for self-employment, and also studying for a multitude of qualifications.. but it’s supposed to be difficult otherwise it’s not a genuine challenge!

If you would consider sponsoring me that would be very much appreciated.

The National Autistic Society supports the 700,000 autistic people in the UK and their families through specialist schools, campaigning for better rights and services, and helping organisations become more autism friendly. Their work is transforming lives and changing attitudes every day.

Any donation, big or small, would mean so much. Not only will it help keep me motivated throughout the challenge, but it will also support the National Autistic Society’s work to create a society that works for all autistic people and their families. Thank you for your support 馃挏
