A picture of a character from the IT crowd stating 'I don't like going outside. The graphics are amazing, but the storyline is terrible, and the NPCs are extremely aggressive.'

Put yourself in his position.

Let’s not split straws here, you can’t have honestly have got to adulthood without realising the world is - quite simply - NOT a good place, and it is getting worse by the moment.

So it is natural therefore that people are increasingly not wanting to interact with it, especially young people, as they do not see the point.

The ‘social contract’ is clearly broken - what do they get for their hard work? Minimal pay, job insecurity, no chance of owning your own property without a lifetime of debt, a failing health system, a non-existent pension, a negative growth outlook, and the political media constantly trying to paint THEM as ’the villain’.

It is logical therefore that people will increasingly just NOT want to interact with society as things get worse.
